Of a wish for the perfect place

I have been thinking about the things I would like to have where I live. Kind of a shopping list *grin*

I would like to be where there is a great little coffee shop. The kind where you could go and read your book, or spend time with friends talking about life and things like it. A place where the coffee was actually worth going there to have it. Comfie chairs, lighting that doesn't remind you of the grocery store, Windows to watch the world outside iif you wanted to. Music.. live music on weekends.

A boulangerie. The smell of yeast proofing & fresh breads, warm from the oven. Loaves that delight the all of the senses ~ beautiful, sweet and savory, Hard crust with soft bread inside, soft rolls... That little breath of warm air that kisses you when you break it open.

A bookstore. One that can be wandered in for hours. A place where no one would care if you wanted to sit on the floor and look at the books before you decide what you want... A comfortable place. Yes, it should have chairs - soft chairs that hug you when you sit in them. Chairs that invite you to read in them.

A fantastic place to have lunch alone or with friends. They would be happy to pack a picnic for you. There would be comfort foods and fun new things to try. They would be happy to make things the way you like them. Flowers on the tables.

A lovely patisserie. Delicate tiny bites of sweetness... desserts to share... Cases filled with delights to the eye, the tongue, the nose, the spirit. Tastes you expect and delightful surprises.

A wine shop with a sommalier that remembers your loves, and helps you learn new passions. A place to taste and learn.

A flower shop. One that they remember that you love freesia and tuck it into gifts your friends send you.. because they know that you love it. A place to stop and buy fresh flowers for your house a couple of times a week.

There would be parks. Lovely places to have a picnic or sit alone to think about nothing or everything. Benches and flowers and trees. Water with fish and ducks to watch and feed.

Interesting shops. Perhaps a main street to wander in and out of shops. Places where you may find unusual trinkets. Shops filled with old and new treasures. Shops run by people who care about the things they are stewards of, and the patrons who wander in.

A farmers market to purchase fresh flowers, fruit and vegetables. Jams and jellies. Preserves.

It would be a place with 4 seasons. A place where you can know your neighbors. Share in their lives enough to feel like the whole town is an extension of your home. A place where everyone watches out for the children who live there.

A dream... a wish... a hope.

safe travels.
